July 2024

• July 4: Holiday – Independence Day
  Schools are closed in observance of Independence Day, a national holiday honoring the United States’ independence.

August 2024

• August 8-9: New Teachers Only
  Special orientation and training sessions for new teachers joining Roanoke County Schools to help them prepare for the school year.

• August 12, 15, 16: Teacher Service Days
  Dedicated service days for all teachers to organize classrooms and complete administrative tasks.

• August 13, 14, 19: Professional Development Days
  Days for staff training and curriculum planning to ensure high-quality instruction throughout the school year.

• August 20: First Day of School
