August 2-9, 2024 – Teacher Pre-Planning Days

Before students return to the classroom, teachers spend these days preparing for the new school year. This time includes setting up classrooms, refining lesson plans, and participating in professional development to ensure they’re ready to provide quality instruction from day one.

August 12, 2024 – First Day of School

Students officially kick off the 2024-2025 academic year! This day is filled with excitement as students reunite with friends, meet new teachers, and settle into their classes.

August 16, 23, and 30, 2024 – Early Release Days

The first three Fridays of the school year are early release days, allowing time for teachers to plan, collaborate, and analyze student progress. These afternoons are essential for maintaining high-quality instruction throughout the year.

September 2, 2024 – Labor Day (Holiday)

All schools and administrative offices are closed in observance of Labor Day, providing a well-deserved break for students and staff alike.

September 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2024 – Early Release Days

Continuing the pattern from August, these Fridays in September offer teachers additional time for collaborative planning and professional development.

October 9-13, 2024 – FTE Survey II

During this period, the district collects important data on student enrollment, which impacts state funding. Families are encouraged to ensure regular attendance during these days.

October 14, 2024 – Teacher Work Day (No School for Students)

Students have the day off while teachers participate in training, work on report cards, and continue planning for the weeks ahead.

November 1, 2024 – Early Release Day

An early release day to assist teachers with ongoing professional development, allowing them to adjust instruction based on students’ needs and progress.

November 11, 2024 – Veterans Day (Holiday)

In honor of Veterans Day, schools and offices are closed. This is a time for students and staff to remember and appreciate the contributions of veterans.

November 25-29, 2024 – Thanksgiving Break

Students and teachers enjoy a full week off to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends. This break includes three designated hurricane makeup days, should the need arise.

December 18-20, 2024 – Exam Days (Early Dismissal)

As the semester wraps up, students will have early dismissal on these days to complete final exams. This period helps teachers assess learning progress before the winter break.

December 23-31, 2024 – Winter Break

A cherished holiday break for students and staff, providing time to recharge and enjoy festivities. The school and district offices remain closed during this period.

January 1, 2025 – New Year’s Day (Holiday)

Schools remain closed on January 1 in observance of the New Year holiday, giving families time to celebrate the start of 2025.

January 6, 2025 – Return to School/Start of Second Semester

After winter break, students and staff return to begin the second half of the school year, ready for new challenges and achievements.

January 10, 17, 24, and 31, 2025 – Early Release Days

Each Friday in January allows teachers time for collaborative work, focused on enhancing instructional practices and preparing for the academic needs of the second semester.

February 5-9, 2025 – FTE Survey III
